Invisalign

Straight teeth are just the beginning.

At Growth and Airway, Invisalign is one tool within a broader treatment plan, considered alongside airway, jaw position, and oral function.

Our approach to Invisalign

At Growth and Airway, Invisalign is one tool within a broader treatment plan, not the goal in itself. Where many practices use clear aligners purely to move teeth into line, we look at why the teeth are where they are in the first place.

Crowding, spacing, and bite irregularities can be connected to how the jaws have developed, how the tongue functions, and how a person breathes. Invisalign can be a meaningful part of addressing those underlying patterns, but it works best when it sits alongside an assessment of airway, jaw position, and oral function. That wider view shapes how we use it, and for whom.

Who it's for

Invisalign First for children

Invisalign First is a phased treatment designed for younger children who still have a mix of baby and adult teeth. It can help guide jaw development and create space for incoming teeth during a window when the mouth is still actively growing.

For children where crowding or narrow arches are beginning to show, early intervention can be a practical way to reduce the need for more involved treatment later. We consider it alongside any breathing, tongue function, or myofunctional factors that may be contributing to how the teeth and jaws are developing.

Invisalign for adults

For adults, clear aligner treatment can be a way to restore comfort and function in the bite, not simply to improve appearance. Misalignment can place strain on the jaw joints, contribute to teeth grinding, and affect how comfortably the mouth closes at rest.

Invisalign for adults is considered in the context of any existing TMJ symptoms, sleep concerns, or airway factors. Treatment is approached as functional health restoration, working with the whole picture rather than the teeth in isolation.

Questions about Invisalign First

A few of the ones we hear most. The full list answers more across every topic.

When should my child have their first visit?+

Early assessment can be valuable from around age five or six, when the first adult teeth begin to emerge and jaw development patterns become more apparent. That said, concerns at any age, including infancy, can be worth discussing with us.

How long does treatment take?+

Treatment duration varies considerably depending on the patient's age, the conditions being addressed, and the combination of therapies involved. Childhood cases with straightforward structural concerns may resolve over twelve to twenty-four months. Adult cases involving TMJ dysfunction, sleep concerns, and layered structural issues can take longer. We will give you a realistic picture at your assessment.

Do I need a referral to book an appointment?+

No referral is needed. You can contact us directly to arrange an initial assessment for yourself or your child.
